What is UAV or Drone?
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone and also referred by several other names such as RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) or UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard. The flight of UAVs may be controlled either autonomously by onboard computers or by the remote control of a pilot on the ground.

What about safety?
Safety is our paramount concern and number one goal at UAViation. Â We will not fly over crowds or in inclement weather (high winds, etc) and at all times we use a Visual Observer to provide an additional level of on-site safety. Â Our pilots are seasoned and responsible operators with experience on equipment, and have created some safe yet incredible, innovative shots.
How far can you fly?
The UAV must remain within the Pilot in Command’s Visual line of sight (VLOS) at all times, and our ceiling is 400′.
For an additional layer of safety, we’ve set a self-imposed limit of 2km (1.2 miles) from the transmitter. If the copter exceeds that limit, it will automatically return to the takeoff location. We like to maintain a visual of the drone at all times and fly accordingly, depending on visibility.
How long can you fly?
We use LiPo rechargeable batteries to power our copters. Each battery lasts approximately 15-18 minutes. A battery change only takes 2 minutes and we always bring multiple batteries to each shoot and recharge during flights as long as there is an outlet nearby.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are insured by insurance provider specialize in covering UAV’s for $5,000,000 UAV liability and damage policy. We are also insured with a $5,000,000 standard commercial general liability insurance for photography/videography policy. If you decide to book us, we will be happy to provide you with any documentation.
