WE DON’T NEED TO CLIMB A TREE TO TAKE AERIAL SHOTS ANYMORE!
Whether you are in the real estate business, construction or simply love nature photography, you don’t have to go as far as a renting a helicopter to take aerial shots anymore! Wondering how? DRONES!!! Drones or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs), are aircraft devices that have no passenger. They are controlled by a remote control, operated by individuals and are able to record visual data whether it’s photograph or video.
A little history about drones: The first “toy” drone was invented by Etienne Omnichen in 1920. This aircraft flew a recorded distance of 360 meters and made over 1000 successful flights. The first “practical” drone was invented and used more than a decade ago, on 2002. The main use of drones at that time was for military purposes and nothing like the fun stuff we do now in the drone service industry. Now, you might wonder why everyone doesn’t have a drone flying around like they have phone cameras and DSLR’s. Flying a drone is actually not as easy as you might think. There are reasons why you need training to be able to fly a drone:
- There are rules and restrictions to be followed when operating a drone. For example: Drones can not be closer than 100 feet to individuals for safety purposes.
- Multitasking: When operating a drone, you have to control its position, take pictures/footages and follow the restrictions.
FACT #1: The longest a drone battery can last is 20 minutes.
FACT #2: They’re annoyingly loud. (Hoping this will reach the drone builders out there to consider for the newer versions!) So, again.. Need property footage taken for your open house and advertisements? In process of building construction and want to track your progress? Want inspection done on a bridge your company is working on? We can help with all drone services! Stay tuned for the next blog about the types of drones we operate!!
